Pre-Marital Guidance Application
The following is an application to help us as a church leadership serve you to the best of our ability. We are asking that you complete this application as soon as possible so we can give you as much support as possible for your premarital guidance and wedding needs.
Pre-marital Guidance Program: Plan to begin these sessions prior to engagement or around 4-6 months prior to your anticipated wedding date. This will provide adequate time for the counseling sessions. We believe these sessions will give you a head start in your upcoming marriage. Our objective is to assist you in identifying your vulnerabilities and developing your strengths so you can enter into a lifetime commitment of marriage based upon a strong biblical foundation.
In the sessions you will be reading" Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts", by Les and Leslie Parrott and going through the workbook. You will have up to 8 sessions with a CT pastor or a member of the Marriage Ministry team. Being open and honest in these sessions is an important part of the process of preparing for a lifetime commitment to each other. God's plan is to not harm us, but to give us hope and a future (Jer 29:1), and we believe that these premarital counseling sessions will be a wonderful way to prepare for your future.
By Filling Out this Application, You Acknowledge the following:
* We understand the high standard that is given by God for the calling of marriage, and are willing to go through the premarital guidance as prescribed above.
* We understand that Chicago Tabernacle ministers will not officiate or hold the ceremony at Chicago Tabernacle if alcohol will be served at the wedding, or if social dancing will take place.
* We commit to being as open and forthright as possible in these sessions to fully receive the wisdom of the biblical guidance and advice that is given.
