Who we are looking for
As the priest in God’s house, we firmly believe we are called to fulfill the mission of the Chicago Tabernacle by serving others into greatness. Jesus Christ was the greatest model of a servant, as it states in Philippians 2: 6-7:
“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
Based on His example and the values God has set upon our hearts, we’ve created a set of guiding principles for our team. Living out the following “Leadership Values”, will equip you to be successful and to help our church thrive.
Humble: Open, transparent, vulnerable, and teachable.
Missional: I’m a minister, not an employee.
Generous: Ask the question: “What else can I do?”
Courageous: Willing to receive and lead the difficult conversations.
Proactive: Plan ahead and be action oriented. Act now!
Flexible: Open to change, whenever and wherever!
Diligent: “Work till the job gets done” - mindset of “First one in and last one out.”
Energetic: Take ownership of your joy and countenance.
Coachable: Ask the questions: “What coaching do you have for me?” and “What can I do better?”
Team Player: I’m part of the solution! – “I win when the team wins.”
Disciple Maker: Ask the question: “Who else can I bring along the journey and develop?”
Ownership: I own the vision and make it my priority!
